Rob Rada
General Foreman/Superintendent in Training

Rob Rada joined Custom Contracting in 2018 as a first-year apprentice carpenter. He’s advanced steadily ever since through hard work, ongoing education and training, and an unwavering commitment to service.

A US Army infantry veteran, he has always understood what it means to show up, be prepared, and put others first. Those qualities have served him and Custom Contracting’s clients well in his years on the job.

Working primarily in occupied healthcare environments, Rob has built deep, trusted relationships across two major hospital systems. He sees his role as far more than delivering construction services.

“The hospital runs 24/7,” he says. “To work in that environment, everyone on our team has to be the face of the company. It’s not a job site where we show up and start throwing tools around. We come in knowing we’re already working in a high-stress environment. We try to make everything we do seamless. The less they know we’re here, the better we’re doing our job.”

Rob has worked around neonatal and special care units, been present during medical emergencies, and even helped guide an anxious father through the hospital corridors so he could witness the birth of his child. “We pay attention to the environment,” he says. “We pivot if

we can offer assistance.”

“Custom Contracting invests a lot of time and effort into training us. Their return is our loyalty and longevity,” he says. “Many people have been here for decades. That’s very rare in the construction industry. I started as a first-year apprentice, and they keep training me

so I can move up.”

Rob says what drives him to come to work each morning is a sense of purpose that goes beyond the job itself. “I love working in hospitals, being reminded that there's more to it than earning a paycheck. Life is sacred, and we get to help improve people’s lives in our own way every day. I feel like I have one of the coolest jobs in the world.”
