Our affiliation with ASHE affords us a trusted industry resource, ASHE is committed to its members, the facilities they build and maintain and the patients they serve.  With more than 12,500 members, ASHE is the largest association devoted to optimizing the physical healthcare environment.  

Associated General Contractors of America

Custom Contracting has been a member of AGC since 1997. AGC was founded in 1918 by President Woodrow Wilson who recognized the importance of the construction industry in advancing our nation.  AGC members play a powerful role in sustaining economic growth, and adding to the nation's productivity and quality of life.  

Chicagoland Associated General Contractors

Our membership in the Chicagoland Associated General Contractors (CAGC) connects us to leading contractors and suppliers who belong to the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC).  From small firms to large, AGC members build private and public projects worth more than $11 billion annually.

Construction Financial Management Association

The Construction Financial Management Association is dedicated to serving the needs of construction financial managers (CFMs) and their service providers through the power of education, networking, and information. CFMA creates education to ensure you and your

team are up-to-speed and prepared for the complexities of construction financial

management. CFMA offers a variety of topics to meet the needs and goals of CFMs in all

stages of their careers.

Construction Industry Service Corporation

The Construction Industry Service Corporation (CISCO) is a non-profit labor management association. CISCO was founded in 1988 in an effort to bring union construction labor and management representatives together to work cooperatively in order to better the construction industry as a whole. CISCO currently represents over 8,000 union contractors and 140,000 workers in Cook, DuPage, Lake, Kane, Kendall and McHenry Counties.

The Legacy Project

The award-winning Legacy Project is a Chicago-based cultural and educational non-profit dedicated to researching and promoting the contributions Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) people have made to world history and culture.  It is driven by a core of historians, biographers, educators, youth advocates, social activists, and community and business leaders who share a commitment to ending the redaction of LGBTQ contributions from shared human history.

Healthcare Engineers Society of Northern Illinois

The mission of the Healthcare Engineers Society of Northern Illinois (HESNI) is to advance the role of the healthcare facilities services professional. This is done through the development and promotion of educational, networking and professional collaboration opportunities for our members. HESNI is the premiere resource for hospitals and their professional affiliates to develop solutions to local, regional & national advocacy issues and to provide professional development, mentoring & networking to our membership.

Lean Construction Institute

LCI is a non-profit organization created in 1997. Its purpose is to transform the design and build environment through reforming production management in design, engineering and construction for capital facilities. LCI has developed the Lean Project Delivery System™ (LPDS) that applies lean principles pioneered in manufacturing to construction. LPDS tools facilitate planning and control, maximize value, and minimize waste throughout the design and construction process. LCI’s national headquarters is located in Arlington, VA. 

Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council

Custom Contracting is a signatory of the Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council, which  represents over 50,000 working men and women in Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, and Eastern Iowa. The Mid-America Regional Council provides the construction and maintenance industries with productive, competitive, and certified professionals encompassing a wide variety of crafts and skills.

Mid-America Regional Bargaining Association

MARBA is a multi-employer association focused on collective bargaining in the commercial construction industry. The mission of MARBA is to promote stability and unity through improved labor-management relations for the commercial construction industry and for the betterment of Chicago and surrounding communities. 

Professional Women in Construction

PWC is a national nonprofit organization founded in 1980 to support, advance, and connect women and promote diversity in the architecture, engineering, construction, and related fields. Fourteen industry leaders in Chicago came together in 2021 to extend that mission to the first midwestern chapter. Our vision is implemented by actively engaging our members in career development, hosting events that facilitate connection and foster open conversation, and providing leadership opportunities on member-driven committees. We welcome all genders in our membership - together we can do more to support women in our industry!

United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America

All Custom Contracting employees who work in the field are members of the UBC, one of North America’s largest building trades unions with over a half-million members. UBC education and training advances leadership, skill, quality, productivity, safety, and attitude with the goal of creating a constructive culture within the construction industry and providing a competitive workforce for our contractors and owners.

Women’s Business Enterprise National Council
Custom Contracting achieved certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise in 2023. WBENC, the certifying organization, is the nation’s leader in women’s business development and the leading third-party certifier of businesses owned and operated by women, with more than 17,000 certified Women’s Business Enterprises, 14 national regional partner organizations, and 350+ corporate members. More than 1,000 corporations representing America’s most prestigious brands and many state and local governments and entities accept WBENC Certification.

Youth Outlook

Established in 1998, Youth Outlook is Illinois' first and longest-running nonprofit social services agency solely dedicated to providing the care and community LGBTQ+ youth need to reach their full potential. Our services are offered statewide, including virtual and in-person drop-in centers for youth ages 5-20, caregiver and parent support, health and wellness navigation, and community education and professional development.
