Custom Contracting is a Women's Business Enterprise National Council-Certified Women's Business Enterprise

I’m thrilled, honored, and personally proud to announce that the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) has certified Custom Contracting as a Women's Business Enterprise (WBE). WBENC is the nation's largest third-party certifier of businesses owned and operated by women in the United States.
Achieving this highly prized distinction was one of the first goals we set for our company when I took the reins as president in 2022 and majority owner in 2023. Simply stated, certification as a WBE confirms that an enterprise is at least 51% owned, operated, and controlled by a woman or women.
To us, it means so much more.
Achieving WBENC WBE certification wasn’t easy. It required serious self-assessment, meticulous documentation, and an in-depth review and onsite inspection of our operations by the Women’s Business Development Center Midwest (WBDC).
As rigorous as the process may be, the true meaning of certification to our customers, our team members, and our business is enduring and its value both practical and has exponential value.
For our customers, choosing a WBE like Custom Contracting as a partner or supplier demonstrates their own commitment to fostering diversity—increasingly required by many companies and government entities to engage with them in projects and business relationships.
Most important to me personally and to our team, WBE certification underscores our dedication to ensuring equity in our workplace for all the right reasons, which goes beyond our historically strong commitment to equality and diversity.
Equity at Custom Contracting means recognizing that each individual team member comes to us with a unique set of talents, capabilities, and circumstances, and then creating the space and providing the tools and resources each requires to
succeed and thrive.
In my tenure of more than three decades with Custom Contracting, I have witnessed living testimony of how effectively this works within our company and the impact it has for those who engage and interact with us outside our walls.
By reconfirming and demonstrating our individual and collective commitment to the multi-layered meaning of our mission, each of us at Custom Contracting is truly “building a healthy place in our world.”
In it together; Building a Healthy Place in Our World,
