Custom Contracting 2.0: Next Generation Leadership, Enduring Commitment

By: Leon LaJeunesse, Cofounder and Former President, Custom Contracting

March 6, 2023

True to our mission of building a healthy place in our world, Custom Contracting has taken yet another intentional step to propel our business forward. I’m pleased and excited to announce that Donna LaJeunesse, who took the reins as president this past August, obtained majority ownership of Custom Contracting effective January 1, 2023.

This next chapter in our company’s evolution, which we’ve dubbed Custom Contracting 2.0, not only positions us for long-term growth, it also underscores our company’s enduring commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion within our organization

and across our industry.

Those who have collaborated with Donna over her tenure with Custom Contracting have seen how she

combines her strong skills and strategic mindset with her dedication to living our mission and vision in

all she does. As the leader of a certified woman-owned business, Donna will continue to prioritize training,

supporting, and elevating diverse talent in a company where 30% of our current staff are women, 10%

are women of color, and 20% overall are people of color.

As we enter this next phase of growth under a new generation of leadership, each member of our exceptional leadership team remains committed to ensuring the continuity and consistency of meeting or exceeding expectations for quality, service, and safety. This team includes Project Managers Sweedlana Atou, and Kyrsten Romero, Senior Superintendents Kevin Shuttleworth and Anthony Tinerella and Superintendents Bill Brown, Dave Goeing and John Sullivan.

As we bring Custom 2.0 to life, we all remain mindful of living our formally stated mission to build a healthy place in our world. The multi-layered meaning of these words embodies our reason for being—why we do what we do for our employees, consultants, specialty trade contractors, vendors, clients, and society at large.

I will continue partnering with Donna to focus on fostering client relationships, mentoring our management team, and supporting women and diversity throughout the construction industry. I remain incredibly grateful for the unwavering support of

my family and friends, our clients, our team members and partners, and the countless industry stakeholders I consider lifelong friends and colleagues.

Gratefully,

Leon LaJeunesse
