David Goeing has earned a reputation for his ability to see the big picture and his capacity to manage complexity in the projects he supervises. He joined Custom Contracting in 2013 about halfway through his carpentry apprenticeship and has since progressed steadily in positions of responsibility within the organization.

 

David says that supervising large-scale projects on site has given him a much broader perspective on what it takes to deliver excellent outcomes, on time and on budget. He’s demonstrated time and again his ability to anticipate and address challenges proactively.

 

“There are so many potential risk factors in our work,” he notes. “If you’re not thinking about everything all the time, even simple tasks gone wrong could result in major problems. You’ve really got to think outside the box in terms of client needs and stay four or five steps ahead to anticipate what will make the difference in being successful. We’re taught to do that at Custom Contracting.”

 

David is known for building productive, collaborative relationships with clients and partners. He says, “At Custom Contracting, we genuinely care about building and growing good working relationships with everyone involved—from the client, their staff and representatives to every subcontractor and individual who’s involved in the day-to-day work. My on-site experience has opened my eyes to all aspects of construction and what it will take to make sure everyone can succeed.
